Observing the daily turn of the tides, this house sits above the Comox Harbour and Royston wrecks, taking in the changing scenery. The shoreline landscape was required to be ecologically restored along the beach front floodplain, with strictly native coastal species revegetating the sandy sloped bank. Further uphill surrounding the house are extensive beachy outdoor living spaces for the enjoyment of the clients.
The design of these outdoor living areas combine contemporary structure with a soft blend of vegetation, focused on foliage texture and colour contrast rather than on blooms.
