Exposed to the elements, this modern architecture is set into a west coast landscape of thick stone slab retaining walls, with broad steps between levels. Tough native species and ornamentals blend into a coastal garden which is predominantly evergreen and can withstand the ocean spray and buffeting winds.
In contrast to the exposed west coast landscape on the ocean side, the sheltered back yard and courtyard are living spaces that can be enjoyed year round, and offer more traditional garden spaces. A slatted pergola, water bubbler, courtyard fire bowl and circular seating area create spaces that are both comfortable and functional. Charcoal cobble pavers, set in circular patterns evoke droplets of water throughout the patio space.
