This project was an absolute joy to be involved in, full of exuberant enthusiasm and vivacious perennials. This garden has already grown so much since installation, and it will continue to thrive despite deer and wet winters.
This is a garden that explodes out of the ground in spring, surges with abundance through summer, ages gloriously into autumn, only to soften into tracery and seedheads in winter. A true four season garden, embracing the changing of seasons and the ephemeral nature of existence.
Plants are predominantly pollinator friendly perennials and ornamental grasses, woven through with herbs and structural woodland edge shrubs. There is a strong focus on medicinal and native plants. The voracious deer have been a challenge to live side by side with this garden, but we are succeeding.
More images to follow, as this project will take time to knit together and for the perennials to truly take hold…
