This landscape is designed as outdoor living space and garden that is respectful of and suited to its natural woodland setting in the Vancouver Island rainforest, providing year round interest for clients and wildlife. Plants selected are native species, pollinator attractors, edible and have long blooming times. The design style is west coast, relaxed and easily maintained with subtle transitions between outdoor rooms. Fencing is installed around the perimeter of the garden for deer protection.
This garden will mature and evolve over time, transitioning from an open space in the back yard to a more dense green rainforest understory. Native seed blends will enhance the diversity within the garden, and allow the forest to reclaim the space in time. The front garden will remain a place for sunny morning coffee, a few vegetables in the raised corten steel planters, and entertaining.
